Task: Analyze Goals and Plans
Task sourced from Tropos
Purpose

The purpose of this task is to analyze goals and plans from the point of view of the actor,  by using three basic reasoning techniques: means-end analysis, contribution analysis, and AND/OR decomposition.

Relationships
Steps
Analyzing goals through means-end analysis
Applying means-end analysis in order to identify  plans, resources and sofgoals that provide means for achieving a goal.
Analyzing goals contributors
Applying  c ontribution analysis in order to identify goals that can contribute positively or negatively in the fulfillment of a given goal. In a sense, it can be considered as an extension of means-end analysis, with goals as means.
Decomposing goals
Applying AND/ OR decomposition analysis in order to model a finer goal structure, decomposing a root goal into sub-goals.
Analyzing plans through means-end analysis
Applying means-end analysis in order to identify  the elements that provide means for achieving a plan.
Analyzing plans contributors
Applying  ontribution analysis in order to identify elements  that can contribute positively or negatively in the fulfillment of a given plan.
Decomposing plans
Applying AND/ OR decomposition analysis in order to model a finer plan structure, decomposing a root plan into sub-plan.
